Hot Springs

“You are going where? But what about the cartels?”

“Wow. I wouldn’t go there even if someone paid me”.

“Pretty irresponsible to be going there. You’ re a mother – you shouldn’t be putting yourself into situations like that…”

To which my response was:  “Have you ever been to Mexico? Oh, you haven’t… Well then, please at least tell me specifics as to what this violence is where I am going. What area is it in, and what specifically should I be on the lookout for?”

What Others Are Saying

The hotel is perfectly situated for relaxing, exploring, meeting, and learning. The food is great. Our hosts, Darrin and Cheri Jones utilize their wide circle of friends and acquaintances to offer such opportunities as visits to local farmers and cheesemakers, lessons in regional cooking (including how to make the biggest tortillas in Mexico!), trip suggestions to colonial churches and rock art sites. And if you’re in a less energetic mood, there are delicious hot springs within reach. Beautiful scenery, fine food, friendly people – the Rio Sonora Valley has ’em all. We’ve gone several times, and always come home refreshed, well-fed, enthusiastic, and ready for more!
