La Posada del Rio Sonora


The Romantic La Posada del Rio Sonora is located
on the historic plaza of Banámichi
in the High Sonora Desert in North Central Old Mexico.

There is no crime, begging or typical tourism (not one t-shirt shop). The streets are clean, the church bells still ring, a large variety of bird species sing in the plaza, and laughter can be heard throughout the village.

The 1400 or so residents of Banámichi welcome the small number of foreigners that come to La Posada del Rio Sonora.
